Yesterday, while at my parents' house for my youngest brother's birthday, I was looking for a network cable (I never did find one, and I wonder if rmitz got his usb cable back?)

Anyhow, my mother and (the older of my two) sisters had cleaned up some of the stuff from my old room. I brought some of it home with me. In the pile were old pictures... lots of them. Among others, a trip to the Port Authority Operations Control Center for the light rail system in 1993 or so, pictures at what was then Arden Trolley Museum, and some pictures which somehow a high school aged me ended up in. I also emptied a drawer, which has a complete set of Port Authority bus/rail schedules from around 1989, and substantial sets from other cities (Philadelphia, Toronto, Chicago, New York, Seattle, Buffalo, Miami... and that's not even close to all of them)

Somehow I got a Stockholm subway schedule and a Swedish Rail schedule from 1989 as well. At the time I hadn't a prayer of international travel.

Life has changed a lot since 1989, and I guess it hasn't been all bad.
