And I know that I’m right ‘Cause I hear it in the night

2 releases of Cyrus (2.1 and 2.2 branches) to fix some (mostly single byte) buffer overflows turned into 3 when a patch I meant to revert crept into the 2.2 release. I have a suspicion about how it needs to be done, but it's going to involve writing test cases with mmap(), which just sort of turns my stomach. Maybe next week. And I still think the number of processes you need to run to have a mail server is just too many, but I don't have an answer for that yet.

The rest of the week wasn't as productive as I'd have liked, but is it ever? Last night I went with a group of people to Claddagh Irish Pub at the South Side Works, and it was tasty. I ate probably a bit too much, but it was my only meal of the day. The only complaint was being right inside the door meant we kept getting blasts of cold. Oops. The brie appetizer is decent, the dessert crepes are delicious.

The intent for today was to take a break from the huge pile of other things I needed to do and go sit trackside for a while and watch whatever Norfolk Southern has to show. So far, haven't left, and the daylight is declining, but, we'll see what happens. I actually have a pile of stuff I'd like to get done this weekend, but I suspect as usual it will not work out that way. On the plus side, my camera is actually charged, so maybe I can even get some pictures...
